The Dramatic Society was invited in 1997 to take part in the annual youth theatre festival in Rome organised by the Associazione Culturale "Romeo Collalti".
This was the first of many visits to Rome for the festival. Our show was Goldoni's The Venetian Twins. Director was Randall Lewton.
	The trip was arranged with the help of Nunzia Bertali, Italian Consul in Liverpool, and, of course, Dott. Massimo Collalti, organiser of the festival.

We were also invited to the seaside town of Sabaudia and were overwhelmed by the welcome we received. They threw flags . .
